George Mason University has an established set of principles and policies to govern educational lending practices for undergraduates, graduates and professional students. These principles state that lending practices used by George Mason University is in the best interest of the students, that we support a students’ right to choose their lender and that the employees of George Mason University will not accept financial payments, good or services from lenders.

George Mason University participates in the Federal Education Loan Program which consists of the Federal Stafford Loan and the PLUS Loan program. We have provided you with information on a limited number of FFELP lenders. A lender list is a tool used to assist students and their families with the decision making process of choosing a lender.

The lenders on our list have demonstrated a commitment to providing high quality customer service and accurate loan processing. We, the Mason Office of Student Financial Aid, evaluate our list each year to make sure they provide us with the best technology, customer service, and borrower benefits.

Please keep in mind, the final choice is yours. This choice includes the decision to select a lender NOT included in the lender list.
