Summer 2008 Financial Aid Guidelines

The following section details the policies and procedures regarding Summer Financial Aid.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for Summer Financial Aid (exclusive of Summer Federal Work-Study and, in some instances, Federal Pell Grant), students must be enrolled for at least 6 Summer credit hours, must follow the application procedures listed below, and the following criteria:

  • Be enrolled in Summer and have unused Pell Grant, ACG Grant, SMART Grant and/or student loan eligibility from the 2007-2008 academic year (e.g. Pell Grant eligible and attended only one semester, or attended both semesters but one or more semester less than full-time.)

To be considered for Summer Federal Work-Study, interested students must:

  • Follow application procedures detailed below.
  • If offered a Federal Work-Study position, participate in the FWS job identification/interview process.
  • NOTE: FWS Summer earnings for students enrolled less than 6 Summer credits count against 2008-2009 financial aid eligibility.

Application Procedures

To apply for Summer financial aid:

  • Have a 2007-2008 Free Application for Federal Student Aid on file with the Office of Student Financial Aid.
  • Complete the Mason Summer Financial Aid Application for Summer 2008. (Contact your financial aid counselor to determine if you are not sure if you are eligible to complete a Summer Financial Aid Application.)
  • Must have pre-registered for the intended Summer classes.
